Today's award of drones to emergency services from Dubrovnik and Neretva Region is investment in the civil protection which makes our area safer, for local people, and for many tourists who visit us. Dubrovnik and Neretva Region will continue to work on projects proposals which will be thematically focused on the risks to which our region is exposed to – said Nikola Dobroslavić, president of the Dubrovnik and Neretva Region.
Members of the Firefighting Association from Primorje and Gorski kotar Region held education for professional and voluntary civil protection members. The exercise for salvation of the people from the ruins after the earthquakes was held in Kupari, 20 kilometres from Dubrovnik. The exercise was preceded by theoretical training on interventions in rescuing people missing in the ruins by using trained dogs.
Capacity building of professional and voluntary fire brigades was held as part of the WP 8 activities of the project HOLISTIC dedicated to the fire prevention and mitigation of earthquake risk. It is continuing training of members of fire brigades for various interventions, the application of new technologies in the fire interventions and rescue of people injured in earthquakes.
